Once a system has gone live, changes to the system become more difficult and during the implementation of an enhancement or modification, business continuity needs to be maintained, therefore the implementation of the change needs to be carefully managed. Full and effective testing of the modification needs to be undertaken prior to delivery to the live system and continuous monitoring of the system needs to be undertaken to ensure the modification has had no adverse effect.
