Guiding Principles
Totalamber's Guiding Principles are the building blocks and foundations of its IFS Services & Support Offerings
'Business, People, Process and Technology'
In Totalamber's world 'Business, People, Process and Technology' are the four cornerstones and key ingredients for success within any IT programme of work.
Totalamber ensures that every one of its projects, however large or small, simple or complex follows these four guiding principles. Totalamber consultants invest time and attention to understand and collaborate the dynamics of all project stakeholders, the users and super-users, process and departmental touch-points, As-is and To-be ways of working and of course the IFS software and integrated technologies.
Totalamber builds on Business, People, Process and Technology with four more essential guiding principles;
'Strategy into Direction' - SiD™
Following in-depth top-down discussions with multiple client stakeholders Totalamber takes the Drivers, Aims & Objectives of any programme and balances them with the Issues, Risks & Constraints of an organisation and then converts a programme Strategy into clear Direction
'Management into Control' - MiC™
Base lining where a client is, plotting a roadmap for success and establishing the obstacles and milestones along the way are the first steps in Totalamber's planning phase. Totalamber applies Governance and Sponsorship to the journey and converts the roadmap into a clear Statement of Work and Project Charter. The appropriate management team is assigned, KPI's are set and the Management and Controls are added to the Strategy and Direction.
'Execution into Delivery' - EiD™
Totalamber then helps its clients to prepare the project team for the journey ahead? Where are they going, why are they going there, and how will it impact them and the business by achieving their objectives? Totalamber develops effective communication strategies with change management considerations and identifies the Strengths & Weakness of a project team in order to develop a skills and knowledge transfer strategy? Final checks to ensure Business-As-Usual, Backfill, Capability, Continuity, Capacity and Change Controls are in place and the Execution is set to become Delivery
'Support into Sustainability' - SiS™
Strategy into Direction, Management into Control and Execution into Delivery are essential stages of any Totalamber project, however Totalamber believes that delivery and success can be lost without providing the right levels of on-going support to the business and its users. Totalamber helps its clients develop a support strategy that cultivates confidence and capability amongst users, Key Users and Super Users, creating on-going Support and Sustainability.
'Shared Risk & Reward'
Shared Risk and Reward is the final piece of Totalamber's guiding principles. Totalamber believes that Shared Risk & Reward focuses minds and incentivises behaviour ensuring that its programmes are delivered on time and within budget.
Totalamber also believes that its upfront investment demonstrates both its commitment and capability and in parallel this upfront investment provides Totalamber with valuable project due diligence.
Totalamber's expert team of IFS consultants use the tools methodology and approach of Totalamber's Service Component Model TASC™ whilst following the guiding principles set out above, no matter how large or small, simple or complex a project is.
Once Totalamber is satisfied that a programme has the right strategy and direction, management and controls, execution and delivery and finally support and sustainability Totalamber is prepared to share risk and milestone based payments are set against successful project delivery.
